Jay Hamilton
Interim Communications Minister
Jay comes to St. Mary's with an extensive background in broadcast journalism and corporate public relations. He won Emmy Awards at PBS before joining Marriott International as its head of Digital Corporate Relations, where he worked with Bill Marriott on changing the company's image. Jay also worked with the Washington, DC Catholic Dioscese on a rebranding campaign and has always been interested in the role of religion in society and in raising the visibility of the church through storytelling. He began working at St. Mary's in April, 2025 where he has been a parishoner for more than 30 years. He's excited to spread the news of his home parish and position it as one of the leaders of the faith community of greater Washington, DC. He finds working in a parish a lot different than network newsrooms and corporate boardrooms. In those jobs, he often prayed, but now it's part of the job.
