Fellowship and Prayer

Many opportunities exist for Fellowship and Prayer at St. Mary's.  A few of these opportunities for ministry are:

Bible Study
A Wednesday Night Bible Study is offered each week at St. Mary's beginning at 6:15pm.  A women's bible study meets each Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m.  If you are interested in learning more about either of these, please be in touch with the church office.

Women's Handcrafts Group and Prayer Shawl Ministry
This is a group that meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 3:30-5;30 pm, gathering in different homes for tea and fellowship while working on handwork: knitting, crocheting, and more!  One of its main tasks is a prayer shawl ministry--to knit shawls prayerfully for parishioners who are ill or grieving or otherwise in need. The shawls are blessed and distributed by St. Mary's clergy. For more information, please be in touch with Sue Whittier at SusanJWhittier@gmail.com.

Saint Anne's Guild
This group for mothers (named after the mother of Mary, Saint Anne) gathers each month for fellowship, study, or another event. For more information, contact the Rev. Anne Turner.

 Men's Group
In Lent 2004, the St. Mary's Men's Group formed to have a means of additional fellowship.  The emphases of this group are: to develop friendships; to support one another; to further personal development; and to focus on issues that men deal with in their everyday walk of life.  This group meets regularly on Wednesday mornings (Fall, Winter, and Spring) in the Paca Parish Hall at 7:00am for fellowship, breakfast, and study.  This follows the weekly 6:30am Eucharist in the Chapel.  You are welcome to join the group at any time.  Please feel free to contact Ned Leonard at nedeb.leonard@verizon.net, John Henley at john@johnhenley.com or the Rev.Tim Malone at Tim.Malone@stmarysarlington.org.

Shrine Mont All-Parish Weekend
This wonderful weekend (usually the 2nd weekend in June) takes place at the Diocese of Virginia's Conference Center - Shrine Mont - in the mountains of Orkney Springs, Virginia (about a 2 hour drive from Arlington).  The weekend provides fellowship, worship, community, and great fun for families of all sizes.  Want to know more or help out with Shrine Mont 2012?  Please be in touch with Lisa Leibel or Lindsay Liwanag

Women's Retreat
The Women's Retreat - a weekend away in the spring - provides a time apart for silence, prayer, meditation, and fellowship for women in the parish.  These retreats are kept small (usually no more than 20 attendees).  Want to learn more about our upcoming retreat days?  Please be in touch with Pam Frick at pam.frick@stmarysarlington.org.
