Confirmation

Confirmation for Adults
If you desire to be baptized, confirmed, received, reaffirmed, or to transfer your membership, please contact the Church Office.

St. Mary's welcomes all who come through our doors.  If you are new to St. Mary's or to The Episcopal Church, we are delighted that you have chosen to continue your spiritual journey with us and hope that you have found a spiritual home here.  There are many different ways to become an active member of St. Mary's.  So, whether you are joining us from another denomination, would like to be baptized, confirmed or received into our parish family, we hope you will be in touch with us so that we can get to know you better and welcome you into our community.  Click here to find out more about what these terms mean.

Baptism: In the Episcopal Church, you are considered a Christian and a member of the worldwide Body of Christ if you have been baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (the historic Trinitarian formula, as specified by the World Council of Churches).  We do not believe in being baptized more than one time.

To be an active member of St. Mary's, you need to be baptized. All baptized persons are most welcome to receive holy communion.  If you would like to be baptized or desire more information, please don't hesitate to contact us.  We offer baptism classes throughout the year.

Confirmation:  All active members are encouraged to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church.  The sacrament of Confirmation is a special service in which you confirm your baptismal vows and receive the laying on of hands by the Bishop of our Diocese.  Being a confirmed Episcopalian is required if you want to serve on the Vestry (the governing body of our church which advises the clergy and oversees the fiduciary responsibilities of the church).  Confirmation classes are offered at least once each year prior to the bishop's annual visitation.
